As always, there is something for everyone – delectable homemade cakes, cookies, preserves and pies, vintage items, costume and new jewelry, decorated wreaths and trees, beautifully hand-painted furniture, lovely hostess gifts, freshly decorated holiday greenery, many special Christmas ornaments, beautifully handmade, heirloom quality Christmas gifts including delightful critter toys, gnomes, felted and wool ornaments, knitted hats, scarves, wool appliquéd Christmas pillows, knit hats and scarves and Cook’s Corner, featuring vintage kitchen/dining china and glassware.
The Holly Berry Fair is one of the Rockport Garden Club’s two fundraisers. The proceeds fund the beautification of the town of Rockport and the club's scholarship program for area students. The hard-working women and men of the club plant and water these gardens, keeping them fresh and lovely for locals and visitors alike to enjoy. The gardens are: Andre the Seal at Harbor Park, Rockport Post Office, West Rockport Post Office and Fire Station, the Opera House, The Camden/Rockport Arch, Aldermere Farm Visitor's Center and Barn window boxes, Memorial Park Monument, Mary Lea Park, Goose River Footbridge, Goose River Upper Bridge. The Rockport Garden Club provides and hangs the Christmas wreaths and garlands throughout the area in late November.
The fair was created by Bev Nolan and Jean Cox in 2006. As the club celebrates its 17th Holly Berry Fair, we remember with gratitude all the members who have participated in this very special event. This year’s fair is chaired by Gail Nicholson, Karyl Brown and Beverly Shejen.
The Rockport Garden Club moved to its new location in 2022 and meets on the first Thursday of the month in the lower level of the West Rockport Baptist Church. Gardening talks by local and nearby experts are frequently part of our meetings. All are welcome! Our meetings and events are advertised in the local newspapers and on Facebook and Instagram (Rockport Garden Garden Club of Maine).
